  • Integrative nutrition is founded upon giving the body what it needs to thrive. It is evidence-based and used for both prevention and reversal of disease states. Excess adipose tissue causes inflammation and in time leads to an increased risk for a host of conditions that not only shorten a person’s lifespan but diminish quality of life. Healthy weight ranges vary for each person and the BMI tool is flawed. However, discussing a healthy well-rounded diet that is known to improve health outcomes is not a diet, and encouraging healthy weight and lifestyle is not fatphobic. We embrace beauty at every size and understand the complexities of social determinants of health.

This course utilizes an integrative approach to healthcare which includes eating a well-rounded diet based on the Mediterranean diet and we encourage daily exercise and healthy weight as an important piece of one’s health picture.
